Whey protein concentrate: Whey protein concentrate is termed a ''concentrate'' because it has the power of the richest protein source (16-20 eggs) in just few grams of the powder. It is low in fat and carbohydrate content. Whey protein concentrate helps to preserve lean muscle tissue, it boosts energy and enhances the muscular performance. It is known to help insulin work efficiently and keeps the blood sugar level at a constant. It delivers the branched chain aminoacids which are immediately used by the muscle tissue for energy during a work out and repair. 

Whey protein isolate: It is different from whey protein concentrate, in whey protein isolate all the fat and lactose is removed and the resulting powder contains 90% protein. It is easier to digest and suitable for those with lactose intolerance. It also provides the branched chain aminoacids, which are the preferred source of fuel for the muscle tissue. The main components of whey protein isolate are beta-lactoglobulin and alpha-lactoglobluin. Beta-lactoglobulin binds with fat soluble vitamins and alpha-lactoglobulin binds with calcium and immunoglobins and enhance immune health. 

Branched chain aminoacids – Isoleucine, leucine and valine

Isoleucine: It is one among the essential aminoacids that is not produced by the body but needs to be supplied in the diet. Isoleucine along with the other two branched chain amino acids helps in protein synthesis, muscle repair and recovery. Isoleucine spares the breakdown of muscle protein to make new aminoacids and hence it is anti-catabolic in nature. Leucine: One among the branched chain aminoacids, similar to isoleucine, leucine demonstrates protein-sparing action hence it is anti-catabolic in nature. HOW - Add 28 grams (one level scoop) to 200 ml of water (or chosen beverage), shake well and drink. May also be added to other foods to increase protein content. For a low carb drink, mix with water. Consume up to 3 serves per day.
